Union lawyer Ian Penny is also participating on the Rodriguez side, along with sports law expert David Cornwell, while MLB lawyers will argue that the punishment fits the crime: years of repeated drug use by Rodriguez, who they also say attempted to impede commissioner Bud Selig’s investigation.
