Given still-weak external demandand Ireland's exports exceeding 100% of GDP, we expect growth to remain slow in2013 and 2014. Nevertheless, Ireland's domestic economy is showing signs ofstabilizing. Unemployment has started to decline while private sector employmentnumbers are improving. The seasonally adjusted standardized unemployment ratedeclined to 13.6% in June 2013 from a peak of 15.1% in early 2012. We alsoexpect house prices to bottom out in 2013. We believe there is upside potentialfor Ireland to recover more rapidly, should external demand recover. We are alsoof the opinion that Ireland's potential growth rate is greater than 2%,benefiting from its favorable demographics, its openness, and its labor andproduct market flexibility.
