Also we get more music, as arrangers normally dropped the second half of the madrigal. The first verse of the poem is set to the music we already know, which is repeated for verse 2 at 00.52. At 2.02 we get something new, for verses 3 and 4. Just so you know, the poem describes the glories of Spring clothing the hills, and the flowers’ heady perfume, and then describes Licori the shepherd picking flowers for his beloved. She is so moved she swears never to look at anyone else.
