She would look equally “guilty” even if she had not chewed anything because she is reacting to your anger, rather than the fact that she has been caught chewing the chairs. Dogs are born to enjoy chewing: you cannot change this, but you can encourage her to chew toys rather than chairs. Buy a hollow rubber toy, stuff it with some of her daily food ration, then put it in the deep freeze: she will enjoy chewing this. If she only chews objects when left alone, it sounds as if she suffers from separation anxiety which is a common problem. Your vet will be able to give you medication and tips on helping her with this.
